Moomba is Melbourne’s largest community festival. Every year, a flood of colourful events spread out from the banks of the Yarra River under the Moomba banner. In 2010, Artplay are getting involved with an installation that makes use of plastic materials collected from recycling bins across the city.

But they need more! A call has gone out for people to collect and donate plastic from their own lives. Artplay and the Slow Art Collective are looking for lids, utensils, and other relatively flat items. These will be transformed into something truly wonderful, over a series of working bees ahead of the Festival in early March.
Discover the story behind Artplay, and learn how you can get involved.
Moomba Festival runs from March 5-8, 2010.
